FINE ART DAVIS FAMILY PHOTOS | YAMADA FAMILY

Daisy. My favorite flower. And now one of my favorite babies! When Rebecca reached out about Davis Family Photos I was so excited to meet their little girl, only a few months old. I'm kind of baby-obsessed. I love their little cheeks, their baby rolls, and how their eyes light up when they're discovering the world around them. While it's not my turn for a baby right now, I get to soak up all the little baby love with the wonderful families I get to work with.

APPLE HILL ENGAGEMENT SESSION | BROOKE & DARIN – PT. 1

Hershey's Chocolate. My jaw dropped. I tried not to drool. I knew I was going to like these two. Brooke works for Hershey's, just about one of my favorite food companies ever (hello sweet tooth!). While we chatted about Hershey Park in Pennsylvania, how these two lovebirds met, and their dreamy wedding next September, we sipped on something warm at our local Starbucks. Brooke couldn't wait to tell me about her ideas for their Apple Hill Engagement Session while we were waiting for Darin. And boy, this Apple Hill Engagement Session did not disappoint!

NAPA ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT SILVER OAK CELLARS | SARAH & BRADY

It was 2010. Silver Oak's Annual Release Day. New Wines. Lines of Vineyards. A quick chat about wine, training for a marathon, and life. Three years later, their paths crossed again by coincidence.  Little did Sarah and Brady know on that fateful release day that seven years later they would be back at Silver Oak Cellars for their Napa Engagement Session. Their black tie and blush napa engagement session is featured on the Cake and Lace blog! Sarah and Brady, I love your love story. I love the way you look into each others' eyes. And I love that everything comes back to a place. A moment. A feeling. That release day. Those are the moments that make me swoon. Stories of little moments turning into big ones. Little conversations about life leading to life-changing questions, Napa engagement sessions, and eventually I Do's. Thank you for allowing us to capture your love. Your story. Your legacy. A legacy of love... and good wine.

FOLSOM ENGAGEMENT SESSION WITH FALL CUDDLES | MALORIE & DRAKE

Oh look! A deer! Or is that a dog? Drake and I burst out laughing. My dear friend Malorie didn't have her glasses to know if the creature running across the clearing we were giggling in was a dog or a deer! These two, Their perfect fall colors. Their joyful smiles. Their love and celebration of upcoming marriage! What a perfect Folsom Engagement Session with Fall Cuddles. We explores starthistle patches, avoided runners and dirt bikers on the American River Bike Trail, and watched the sunset over Lake Natoma (which is a great place to paddleboard by the way!).

DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO ANNIVERSARY SESSION | JAMES & RACHEL

Hypothermia in your hands. Yes, that's right. I said hypothermia in your hands. From stucco. Stucco! The stuff that's on the side of your house. That's one of the first hilarious moments I remember with Rachel. Besides the fact that I'm pretty sure she was my VBS leader when I was in elementary school - ha! Back in 2006, Rachel, James, and I all went down to Mexico with our hometown church to build houses through Amor Ministries. Rachel and I were on the same worksite. And it being the first year we did this program, every worksite was struggling a bit with one of the last steps - the stucco. We may have (unknowingly) used our hands to apply stucco to the sides of the houses we built and well - you can probably guess what that leads to - hypothermia of the hands! Poor Rachel had mittens on for hours! Well, that's the memory that often comes to mind when I think of James & Rachel, that until we spent some time for their Downtown Sacramento Anniversary Session. I mean come on, how cute are these two?

FALL COUPLES SESSION WITH UKULELE FUN | MARYCON & MIKE

These two. From the moment they walked up, they looked fabulous, fun, and ready to have a good time for their fall couples session. I TOTALLY believe all couples should take the time to get dressed up, ladies get your hair and makeup done, and get updated pictures of you two! Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been married! For reals. Hop to it. I know you love those wedding photos but wouldn’t updated pictures be so fun for your walls (literal and Facebook)! Plus, everyone always needs new insta pics!

GOLDEN YOSEMITE ANNIVERSARY SESSION AT TAFT POINT | KATE & ANDREW

Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.  When Kate reached out to me about a Yosemite Anniversary session, I was SO excited! I didn't even realize they lived on the other side of our sunny California state.  And I didn't realize that they are HUGE The Office fans. That worked out great for me because I have watched Jim and Pam, Michael and Dwight, and co. way too many times to count.  We laughed on the cliffs of Taft Point, celebrating exactly 1 year of marriage for these two cuties.  Kate and Andrew wanted a session that felt like them.  Felt cozy.  Felt fun.  Felt wild and free. That's just what Yosemite provided us.

PRIVATE ESTATE GRANITE BAY WEDDING | SANDRA & JAMIE

If anyone deserves love, it’s her. The words that came out of her best friend’s mouth. The words of her daughter’s toast. There wasn’t a single person there who disagreed. Sandra and Jamie deserved each other. Deserved love. Deserved to have a partner, a best friend through life’s troubles, through good times and bad. As Angie and Priscilla toasted their friend and mother respectively, everyone celebrated alongside the happy couple. These two deserved it. A perfect day. A day surrounded by family and friends, their pastor and community in a beautiful private estate Granite Bay wedding.

AVILA BEACH ANNIVERSARY SESSION | WHITNEY & SPENCER

I met Whitney freshman year of college in the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Trinity dorm. What a total sweetheart! When we were back in Avila for our second wedding anniversary, I was so excited to do an anniversary shoot of her and her boyfriend Spencer. These two are so fun, sweet, and even treated us to a DELICIOUS breakfast at Novo in downtown San Luis Obispo. We played on the beach, dipped our toes in the water, and celebrated their love and the sun for a fun Sunday evening. We also came across this ADORABLE puppy during their anniversary session. He came right up and played in her dress ( a few bites too ). His owner said he’s already an Avila Beach celebrity just from a few daily walks. So cute!

OAK PARK ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA | JOSH & MARY

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary through her younger sister who I went to high school and college with. If there’s one thing I know about the Sampson women, they’re full of life, joy, and laughter. That rang true for Mary’s engagement photography session with her fiancé Josh. It made me SO excited to shoot their wedding this December! We started our day outside of St. Isidore’s Chapel where they’ll be saying their vows this December and continued onto Oak Park where their reception will be held at the park clubhouse. It was so fun to explore both of the locations we’ll be at on their wedding day at their engagement session! As I too grew up in Danville, California, it’s always a treat to go back!

GIANTS’ BASEBALL THEMED NEWBORN SESSION IN DANVILLE, CALIFORNIA | SAWYER FAMILY

Steph and Jon are the type of people that exude friendliness. They’re positive, outgoing, and want to be your friend. I met Steph back in the early 2000’s when she was my bible study leader in high school and I’m so glad we stayed in touch. I was honored when they asked me to do both a maternity photoshoot and newborn / family photographs. If you can’t already tell, these two LOVE baseball. And not just any baseball, the San Francisco Giants. When I walked into cute little Finley’s room, I was greeted by energetic orange, a bat signed from a recent World Series championship game, and adorable baseball themed decor. Don’t forget the little one who rocked his Giants’ onesie.

ANNIVERSARY SHOOT IN YOSEMITE VALLEY | VANESSA & LUKE

I had the pleasure of braving the cold of Yosemite Valley for an Anniversary Yosemite Photoshoot in the middle of winter with my dear friend Lauren of Lauren Alisse Photography. She is a total sweetheart and you need to check her out! It’s wonderful to have talented, creative friends who guide you as you both walk through this journey. Now, Vanessa and Luke were just too cute! They braved the cold in their stylish outfits (how cute is that glitter skirt from Rent the Runway?!) and celebrated two years of marriage. I wish them nothing but happiness in the coming years.
