PRESIDIO ENGAGEMENT SESSION | CHRISTINA & TONY

An unexpected trip to San Diego and Murph's girlfriend. After a busy year of teaching elementary school, Christina and Tony planned to take a road trip. Visit some neat spots, see the sights. But with the craziness of the end of the school year, neither got around to planning it. So on a whim, with their planned time off, they jetted off to San Diego, where they attended college. Christina wanted Tony to research restaurants for a nice dinner but he insisted on visiting their classic date spots, the cliffs looking over the ocean in La Jolla. Well after a photo by a stranger, Tony hopped down on one knee unexpectedly and asked Christina to be his forever. And I couldn't have loved it anymore when they told me all about it at their Presidio Engagement Session.

CLOS LACHANCE WINERY WEDDING | KAT & KURT

He began by telling a story. And just a few moments into his story “The Journey”, even I was crying behind my camera. A story of how he got his baby girl. A story of how he and his wife grew their family, with the help of Kristin. And how when she was three days old, they got to pick her up at the hospital and call her their daughter. But that was only the beginning of the journey. See, two decades later, the bride, Kat decided to take a chance by searching for her birth mother Kristin. And with the support of her parents, she got to meet Kristin and her siblings Mackenzie and Daniel. But the best part? Every single one of them were there at her perfect Clos LaChance Winery Wedding to her best friend (sorry Sara!), Kurt. Three families, joining as one, and I know for sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the place.

HELWIG WINERY ENGAGEMENT SESSION | STEFFANIE & RICH

A rainbow. As Steffanie was driving home the other day, she saw a rainbow. Now, rainbows usually mean rain, and it did. Which any bride would probably freak out about on the week of their outdoor, backyard, private estate wedding. But Steffanie? No, Steffanie saw it as a sign. A sign that her dad, her #1 man, was watching over her and her wedding week from heaven. That he was with her through all the ups and downs of planning, the week of, and the nerves. And that he would be with her for her Private Estate Wedding with Jenn Robirds Events. And I absolutely love that. Just like I love Steffanie and Rich’s Helwig Winery Engagement Session too!

SF CITY HALL BLACK TIE ENGAGEMENT | ESMERALDA & JESUS

The first time my jaw dropped. That’s what happened when these two walked into San Francisco City Hall. Flowing black sheen. And a black tux. I wasn’t sure if it was even them. I mean, I was pretty convinced I was in the presence of celebrities or rock stars. Because my jaw was on the floor. I get to call these two a #baumbride and groom?! Well, they looked like a million bucks and that was only the first few minutes of their SF City Hall Black Tie Engagement Session before we headed to the second part, their Palace of Fine Arts Engagement Session.

MT TAM ENGAGEMENT SESSION | JULIA AND CAMERON

Things in common. I love when I find out I have things in common with my sweet couples. Something to talk (or gush) about. Things we have in our past that are related. And when it came to exploring the afternoon with this sweet couple, we got such a kick out of talking about our favorite spots in San Luis Obispo. All over the Central Coast, the places we love and cherish dearly. Places special to me, and special to them. And that’s what we did during their Mt. Tam Engagement Session!

EL DORADO HILLS ENGAGEMENT SESSION | WENDY & DANNY

Connections. I absolutely love connections. Now, I don’t mean adding more connections on Linked In or seeing that we have “1 Mutual Friend” in common on Facebook. I mean, real-life connections. And friends of friends of the wonderful people I get to work with. Those are the kind of connections I like. And that’s exactly how I got to know these two! You see, Danny was a groomsman in Jasmine and Johnny’s McCauley Estates wedding last year. And I also had the privilege of photographing Danny’s coworker’s family portraits too! All these little connections lead to me getting to spend the afternoon with them for their El Dorado Hills Engagement Session.

LEGION OF HONOR ENGAGEMENT SESSION – KATHERINE & KURT

LinkedIn, but for dating. That’s how Katherine recalled their serendipitous meeting. Her and her fiancé Kurt were both signed up on a dating site that worked a lot like LinkedIn. It connects you with people that you have second and third tier connections with based on Facebook. And little did they know that signing up for this site would result in them meeting their other half. The person that laughs at the same jokes. The person they’re meant to spend the rest of their life with. But that’s exactly what happened as Katherine and Kurt shared their love story with me during their Legion of Honor Engagement Session.

SOLAGE RESORT WEDDING WITH BY YOUR SIDE EVENTS | SABRINE & ARNOLD

A cake cutting. Now, this wasn’t an ordinary cake cutting. While at most weddings, the bride and groom cut their cake and delightedly feed each other a piece, that wasn’t the case for Sabrine and Arnold. See, these two, so full of joy and happiness on their wedding day, had another plan. One that involved some cake smushing. And while some couples smush their cake in each other’s faces, they definitely took it to the next level. The best part? They were both totally into it. And I absolutely loved it. It was the perfect ending to their Solage Resort Wedding in Calistoga with By Your Side Events.
